Hogfish for the win @Rhythmcafe in West Palm Beach

Dinner with the family at Rhythm Cafe in West Palm Beach.

So I was down in Boca visiting my sweet and charming Aunt Bernice. I used to stay at her home in Margate NJ when we would go *down the shore* in the summer when I was a kid. Mega bonus as Cousins Franny and Patty who used to take me to the beach and Franny’s daughter, Shaina Wizov of Take a Bite out of Boca fame were all in attendance for dinner. Three generations of family starring our matriarch enjoying the delicious, opulent and kitchy  Rhythm Cafe  in West Palm Beach.

The Rhythm Cafe is one of those, *everything is awesome* places. Tried and true dishes would be their Seafood Chowder which was LOADED with seafood, a light cream soup that was out of this world. The butternut squash soup equally delicious. The Insalata di Caprese was petite and pretty.  Blackend scallops (not so blackened for Aunt Bernice as she doesn’t like spicy) were very good.  Cousin Patty had the Tenderloin Tips which she enjoyed very much.  I have had a lamb shank here last time and it was everything you would expect in a place that took their work seriously. Attention to detail is everywhere from the plates to the walls and it shows, in a big way.

When I eat fish, I prefer light flaky fishes, and they had Hogfish as the special. I had never heard of Hogfish, it is light and flaky on the order of Dover sole, Walleye or Snapper. Fish is prepared one of 6 ways (perfectly I might add). Anyway, I had the hogfish  done amandine and it was off the charts. Waitstaff is attentive, charismatic and on point, while the ambiance rounds out the meal. Terms like *reasonably priced*, *great value* and *gotta take so and so there* come to mind.  Anyway, if you are within 45 minutes of this place, do yourself a favor and get your butt over there, it is the cat’s meow.
